Get Your Pink Back: 3 Simple Tips to Feel Better After Baby

I know what you’re thinking — Three tips? That’s it?
That’s all it’s going to take to get out of the baby blues or postpartum funk?

If we’re being honest — no.
It’s going to take a lot more than three things.
But these three tips? They’ll get you started and moving in the right direction — the direction of getting your pink back, which is the ultimate goal. ✨

You want to feel like yourself again.
You’ve just gone through the biggest change of your life.
Maybe it’s your first baby. Maybe it’s your fourth.
Either way, your life has changed — and so have you.

And although we are so happy and so grateful for the new little bundle that has made our world better, there’s still a sliver of us that misses the old version of ourselves:

  • The one who could make it up a flight of stairs without losing her breath.
  • The one who could devour a plate of tacos and nachos without feeling guilty.
  • The one who could sit and read her Kindle for hours without interruption.

These three small steps won’t take you back in time.
But they will help you adjust to your new normal — and start feeling better in a real, lasting way.

Try implementing them slowly.
Not all at once if you’re not ready — just little additions to your day-to-day, week-by-week.
I promise, it’ll spark something inside you.
Let’s get your pink back. 🫶🏻

Tip One: Move!

“But Kari, how am I supposed to move when I have three kids hanging off me and a breast pump attached to my boobs?”

Girl, I get it.
Especially that pumping-every-2-3-hours life.
Here’s how you do it: Loosely plan ahead.

Commit to moving your body for just 15 minutes a day.
Don’t overcomplicate it — just go.

  • A walk around the block
  • A lap at the mall
  • Pacing your backyard
  • Marching in your tiny 800 sq ft apartment

Kids screaming? Toss them in the stroller.
Baby crying? Wrap them up in the Solly.

Be selfish. Take those 15 minutes for YOU.
Move it, move it! 🏃‍♀️

Tip Two: Drink Up, Mama!

This one sounds easy, but honestly?
It’s the hardest one — especially when you’re constantly moving and barely have time to eat.

My advice:
Invest in a cute water tumbler (no need for it to be expensive) and make it your new best friend — your emotional support water bottle, if you will. 😉

Pair it with your breast pump.
Challenge yourself to empty it at least once a day.
Pretty soon, it’ll become a habit and you’ll find yourself refilling it 2-3 times a day without even thinking about it.

Hydration = Energy. You’ve got this.

Tip Three: Breathe.

Easy enough, right?
Wrong.

Making time to breathe — to really disconnect — when you’re surrounded by chaos is hard.
But you can do it, mama.
In fact, you deserve it.

Take 5, 10, even 15 minutes — whatever you can grab before disaster strikes — and just breathe.

There are tons of free apps like Breathe or Headway.
Or keep it simple: hop on YouTube, search “five-minute breathwork,” and press play.

Be selfish. Take those five minutes to fill your own cup, so you can pour into your family the rest of the day. 💖

Final Thoughts

So there you have it.
Three simple tips to help you start getting your pink back.

Start slow.
Incorporate one tip, then two, then all three daily for a week straight.
Build the foundation.
Lay the pillars for your success.
This is just the beginning — and I promise you, mama, you’re stronger than you know.
